The transaction was announced jointly by Dolan Media President Jim Dolan and Venture Publications President Joe D. Jones. The deal closed March 30. Purchase price and terms were not disclosed.

“We believe in Mississippi’s business community and in this newspaper, and we are very glad to become a part of this state’s future,” Dolan said.

Jones said he chose to complete a deal with Dolan Media because of the fit between companies. “Dolan Media shares our values and will continue our tradition of journalistic integrity,” he said, adding “Dolan is committed to the communities it serves and will be an outstanding corporate citizen for our state. The future is bright for both Mississippi and the Mississippi Business Journal.”
