Zivyak Media Group, LLC, owner of award-winning Berkshire Living magazine, today announced that it has purchased the assets of San Jose magazine from owner Renaissance Publishing, and plans to re-launch the publication in early 2010.
"San Jose, which ceased publishing in December 2008, was the dominant lifestyle publication serving California's Silicon Valley region extremely well since 1996," said Michael Zivyak, CEO of Zivyak Media Group. "As the leading magazine in the tenth largest market in the country, San Jose boasted strong readership and a loyal following and will no doubt regain the dominant market position. We are very excited about the future."
"I am thrilled that Zivyak Media Group is taking ownership of San Jose," said Gilbert Sangari, former publisher of San Jose and owner of Renaissance Publishing. "San Jose magazine is a great fit with ZMG's portfolio of high-quality, award-winning lifestyle publications, and the company clearly understands the unique attributes that distinguish San Jose in the market."
San Jose magazine, which is going through an extensive redesign led by award-winning graphic designer Pete Ivey, will be hiring several full- and part-time employees in the next few months, and has a planned re-launch distribution of 30,000.
